Over the summer school holidays, FSN took a group of young people on a high energy, fun-filled excursion to Circus Arts Byron Bay. Travelling together by bus, the group spent three hours jumping into range of exciting circus activities led by the Circus Arts team.
Participants enjoyed aerial hammock work, trampoline skills, balancing and climbing obstacle courses, as well as learning how to juggle and hula hoop.
Everyone was also invited to attempt the flying trapeze. While some participants felt nervous at first, they were supported and encouraged to exercise their bravery muscles and give it a try. It was great to see young people push past their fears, with a few even adding flips and tricks to their trapeze swing.
After the circus session, the group headed to Byron Bay Main Beach to grab lunch and enjoy the ocean views before hopping back on the bus and heading home to Lismore.
FSN would like to thank the NSW Government’s Office for Youth for their support in making this positive and confidence-building holiday experience possible.
