It was all dancing feet and big beats at FSN’s new Carrington Street space on April 15th 2026, where we hosted a school holiday dance workshop led by the amazing team at Powerhouse Performing Arts. The children got moving to some seriously fun beats, exploring a mix of jazz, funk and acro dance and movement throughout the day.
The children also enjoyed some playful movement time with the ever-popular rainbow parachute, and they even practiced rolling down a foam mat (which really needs to be seen first-hand to appreciate!) Families were treated to a special performance by the team, which was a real highlight.
There was plenty of energy in the room, with music pumping and bodies in full swing. It was great to see the kids jump in, have a go at some new moves, and really enjoy themselves. It was easy to see the immediate social and emotional benefits of dance in this setting – lots of movement, laughter, concentration and connection for this young group of movers and shakers.
