Midwinter Magic at the Lismore Lantern Parade 2025

Lismore Lantern Parade 2025

Community Lights Up at Lismore Lantern Parade

Our hearts were alight this midwinter as we joined the 31st Lismore Lantern Parade. This year’s event fell on winter solstice night and it was a beautiful way for the community to light up the darkest night of the year.

Family Support Network’s staff, Board members and families walked together in the parade, proudly carrying the lantern Kuan Yin, goddess of compassion and kindness.

Family Lantern Making

In the weeks leading up to this family friendly event, Family Support Network held two free lantern making workshops, where families came together to decorate their own unique lanterns to bring along to the event.

The magical atmosphere of the parade and grand finale truly captured the creative, inclusive and connected spirit of our community and it was a privilege to participate alongside many local families, organisations, businesses and social groups.

Inspiration for Next Year’s Event

We were so inspired by the creative lanterns on parade at the festival that we’ve started imagining the possibilities for building a new lantern with our wonderful community of families, to carry at next year’s event. If you have a bright idea for a lantern to represent Family Support Network, get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
