We were delighted to come together with Richmond Tweed Regional Library (Lismore), the HIPPY Program, Aspect, Jumbunna, and Ready Set Go, to host a Community Playgroup Day during National Playgroup Week at Heritage Park in Lismore.
Each organisation brought along a creative activity or special offering, filling the space with colour, curiosity, and connection. It was a joy to see families and children moving between activities, exploring, playing, and sharing in the day together.
A highlight for many was the much-loved train ride, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Brian for generously providing this experience on behalf of Family Support Network—it truly added a touch of magic to the day.
The day beautifully captured the 2026 theme of National Playgroup Week ‘Play For All’ –creating open, inclusive and welcoming spaces for all children to learn, thrive and belong. Our celebration was also a reminder of how play creates connection and helps families and communities thrive.
The feedback from both families and participating organisations was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how special the day felt, and a shared excitement to make this a yearly tradition.
We’re so grateful to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and care to make this event such a meaningful and memorable experience for all.
