Young people from Lismore and Nimbin came together for an engaging and skill-building skateboarding workshop during the 2026 April school holidays, facilitated by the brilliant team at 36 Chambers Skate Shop.
Rolling into Lismore Skate Park on April 8th, participants were guided to develop skateboarding skills, learn new tricks, and build confidence, in a safe and supportive environment. The session encouraged teamwork, persistence, and social connection, with our experienced facilitators supporting participants throughout the day.
Social connection for our local youth was a core focus of the workshop. Following the session in the skate park, participants enjoyed a catered group lunch, with options from Burrito Bar and Smokin Burgers & Ribs, providing an opportunity to relax together and connect. And to encourage equal access and strong regional participation in this holiday session, transport was arranged for young people travelling from Nimbin.
The workshop saw strong attendance and enthusiastic participation, with young people eager to try new experiences, develop skills, and form new friendships.
This initiative was proudly supported by the NSW Government and the NSW Office for Youth.
If you know a young person keen to connect with peers in the community and access awesome free activities over the next school holidays, roll over to our What’s On calendar for details of FSN’s upcoming offerings.
